My name is Claudia Marion Allen and I fell in love with AIMG_79901frican American Literature my Junior year of High-school in my American Ethnic Lit class while reading the part of Ruth in Lorraine Hansberry’s “A Raisin In The Sun”. Over the years as I intentionally exposed myself to more of the literature I began to truly fall in love with the vivid imagery, the diction, and even style of each particular writing. No two pieces are the same in any way. Each writer chooses to attack the American Black experience in his/her own way, and it is truly inspiring to read. This has been my inspiration to begin to blog. I found that I myself had ideas about what to write and how to write it. But I also wanted to legitimately reflect on what I was ingesting. In this experience I have fallen in love with writing and I hope to see my style grow and become its own as I play with many different genres and styles.
